Starlite: much more than a music festival

One more summer, as usual since 2012, the spectacular locality of Marbella will celebrate one of the best musical events in the country under the name of Starlite.

This music festival, which takes place during the months of July and August, is located in the quarry of Nagüeles, a beautiful outdoor rock amphitheater surrounded by greenery.

Starlite is the meeting of the best national and international artists in one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, Marbella, to offer a musical show full of experiences and sensations.

In this sixth edition, which will start on July 13rd and end on August 26th, will gather personalities from all walks of culture, leisure, sports and numerous celebrities.

In addition, in this edition Starlite will have the honor of celebrating the second edition of the Gala de México.

How did Starlite come up?

The founders of the Starlite festival, the marriage composed of Sandra García-SanJuan and Ignacio Maluquer, were thinking of possible places to locate their project of a great music festival in Marbella for many months.

One day, when they were visiting the sierra malagueña, they knew the quarry of Nagüeles and they felt a real crush with the place.

They decided to turn the quarry into a natural amphitheater where they could cite the most prestigious artists in the world of music, entertainment and entertainment.

The festival has a duration of 45 consecutive days during the months of July and August and has become in a short time in the best leisure offer of the Costa del Sol for the beautiful summer nights – since it not only covers music, but also the cinema, fashion, art and gastronomy.

The Starlite auditorium has a capacity of 2,4000 locations with a maximum distance of 39 meters from the stage so that the concerts can be enjoyed in the best possible way.

Artists like Enrique Iglesias, Lenny Kravitz, Ricky Martin, Julio Iglesias or Laura Pausini are some of the faces that have been seduced by Starlite.

In addition to music shows, Starlite also takes full responsibility for helping the disadvantaged. An example of this is the Starlite Gala, which is celebrated every year and whose host of ceremony is the actor from Málaga Antonio Banderas. This gala emerged with the purpose of raising funds for various foundations such as Niños en Alegría (“children in joy”) by Sandra Garcia-Sanjuan or Lágrimas y favores (“tears and favours”) by Antonio Banderas.

The Starlite festival has the label Marca España for being a reference of the values of the country and great ambassador of Spain in the rest of the world.

Starlite 2017

The sixth edition of Starlite will be full of artists and innovations that will make it the most important event of this summer.

As in the previous editions will take place in the quarry of Nagüeles from June 13rd to August 26th.

In this edition the gourmet experience will go one step further and will present a diversified offer, with a multispace gastronomic divided into six corners distributed according to the type of food.

There will also be a restaurant where you can enjoy fantastic dinners in the light of the stars while listening to the music.

From June 13rd artists such as Juan Luis Guerra, Carlos Vives, Eros Ramazzotti or Luis Fonsi will be cited in Marbella. The summer song ‘Despacito’ by singer Luis Fonsi will be some of the songs that will enliven the nights of Marbella.

The Starlite Gala

In 2010 the Starlite Gala began as a night dedicated to social work in order to raise funds for the most disadvantaged.

In the last 7 years the funds raised during this philanthropic evening have been destined through the Starlite Foundation to two organizations fundamentally: Niños en Alegría and Lágrimas y Favores.

Niños en Alegría was founded by Alejandra Alemán and Sandra García-SanJuan. This foundation is dedicated to the schooling of children, teacher training and the creation of schools in Guerrero. Thanks to the Starlite Gala, 13 schools have been built and more than 18,000 children have attended school.

For its part, the foundation created by the actor Antonio Banderas, Lágrimas y Favores, is dedicated to improving the education, health and living conditions of the poorest communities.

The Lágrimas y Favores foundation was born with the spirit of the brotherhoods of Malága throughout the year, which is to help all the people who need it. It was born in the year 2010 of the hand of Antonio Banderas and consists of the bet of cofradías fused to help to the most needy. Its name was chosen in honor to the famous Andalusian virgin María Santísima de Lágrimas y Favores, of which Banderas is a fervent admirer and devoted.

The Gala Starlite has always counted since its first edition with the support of numerous important personalities nationally and internationally.

And during its celebration has been awarded to those celebrities who perform a great philanthropic work such as Valeria Mazza, Sandra Ibarra, Imanol Arias, Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, Alejandro Sanz, Baronessa Thyssen, Deepak Chopra, Enrique Ponce or Carlos Slim among others.

In March of last year the first Gala Starlite was celebrated in Mexico, achieving a great success in the fundraising.

Well-known faces like The Duchess of York, Edward James Olmos, Genoveva Casanova or Rafa Márquez met in the Mexican capital.

How to get to the Starlite 2017 Marbella?

For the sixth edition of Starlite will be available to attendees two bus lines with two different routes to access the festival in a comfortable way and without the need to catch the car after a long night of fun.

For those who prefer to go by their own car, there will be – as in all editions – a parking lot with a large capacity and Vallet service during all day of concert from 00:00 hours.

Starlite festival tickets can be purchased on the website starlitemarbella.com or on other platforms such as El Corte Inglés website.

The opening of the doors will always take place at 20:00 hours and you can access the Starlite Lounge, which is an outdoor space where you can dine and enjoy the shows that are scheduled before each concert.

All the concerts will begin at 22:00 in the evening and once finished it will give way to the Disco Starlite around 00:00 hours until 6:00 hours.
